transfer case ?

well i took it to aamco becasue it was making a grinding noise everytime i left off the gas and they wanted $1650 for everything. sounded a bit pricey and looked easy enough to do myself. and i found a rebuilt one for 495 with exchange. need to replace it so i can sell it just bought a 05 250. so any other info will help

495 sounds about right, its not a hard job to do, its just pull the driveshafts, speedo cable, 2 wires, shift linkage, then 6 bolts and its off. its not that hard to get back up there either, i got a chick to help me manhandle it up there, and we did it no problem. your probably gonna wanna fill it up before you put it up there, as it was a pain for me to fill it. it take atf, but im not sure on how much though.

tango, the tips on my reduction fork had broke off, when the oil pump arm got loose, and wedged underneat of them. then i found out, why somtimes the 4wd wouldnt work, as the retard tthat had worked on it before i got it, didnt put the lockup fork back in, so it somtimes caught, and sometimes didnt. i got my fork welded back together for 15 bucks, since its aluminum, i couldnt do it. for the lock up collar, i just locked it in 4wd, so i dont have to mess with it.

The Broncos used a fixed yoke case, and the pickups used a slip yoke case. Unless he wants to make a new driveshaft, it's not worth it.
