Hi,
About 30 - 40 mph I am getting an air leak near the dirvers window/door area. The dealer replced the door gasket but no change. I have tried to determine if it is the window or the door but no luck (if I open the window it is too loud to hear the noise). Other than turning up the radio and ignoring the sound does anyone have any suggestions on how to find and fix this irritation?

Mine did this on the driver side and I took it to a body shop. All they did was adjust the door to close more tightly. Cost $50. Should have done it myself.

mine does this too - did you find out what they did to adjust the door to close more tightly?
i took mine back to the dealer as well and they double checked everything but couldn't find anything wrong with it?
this concerns me now... i'm wondering if there are some faulty spec'd doors out there and people either believe it's normal or are playing music loud enough to not be able to notice it?
mine used to get unbearable at about 50mph... i ended up buying some foam lining and running it along side the frame of the door and it helped a lot. now when i go to open the door it kinda jumps out at me (just a little) and i can feel the tension when it pops open from the extra foam lining.
it's not a fix but i don't have to deal with the noise anymore - it was my drivers side door as well.
it will be interesting to see how many more report the problem.
I beleive all they do is move the latch/catch. Hinges were not touched....but I could be wrong since I did not do the work. Maybe best to take it to a good bodyshop hte first time around. BTW, mine was most noticably during a strong crosswind, pulling the door open essentially.
2000 EB same thing on my drivers door. It has this loose play, but the the door shuts all the way. Everything is tighten down and the rubber molding is in good shape. ?
that adds up pretty quick, especially considering today's friday and less people will be online.
interesting to say the least...
has anyone figured anything out? workarounds?
my truck was at the Ford body shop for hours (the only place that has looked at by the way) and i asked them to drive it since they couldn't find anything wrong.
the guy driving acted as though nothing was out of the ordinary until we got on the hghway and it was way too obvious for him to not notice it.
they ended up taking it back in to do some more "nothing" to it. this is when i went loooking for some foam / molding.
Hi,
On my '03 Expy the noise doesn't change if I push or pull on the window and door while driving (carefully!). Usually I can find a leak that way so I at least have general area to look. Does anyone know any tricks to find the leak. I've lived with this for two years and it is finally getting to me. BTW I think the gasket is just pushed or glued on so I don't think it takes too long to replace. In my case it may no difference at all.
