Gauges, Gauges, Gauges!!!! Install HELP!!

Gauges, Gauges, Gauges!!!! Install HELP!!
Alright, Assume I know nothing about the above. I want to install a three pod gauge A-piller in my SD and I have a fair amount of questions so bare with me please and help if you can.
first, is the piller it's self. where is the cheapest place to get one, how do I get one the right color to match my truck? do I need to paint it and if so is there special paint that will match exactly? (I have a sport edition)
second, what do you guy think are the most important gauges to have? I'm for sure doing the trans temp, I was thinking oil temp for the second and am taking recomendations on the third.
Next, depends on the second question but are installation recomendations and brands that would be recommended. I was looking at the Autometer Silver series but I didn't see a trans temp gauge in there, I want all the gauges to match each other. Also where to install the sensors for these guages, tranny pan? where the oil temp gauge go? and let me know for third recomended gauge where to place the sensor?

I'd go tranny temp, oil pressure, and an autometer D-PIC. The D-pic is a performance computer in a gauge that measures speed, g force, acceleration, 0-60 time, quarter mile time, etc.

If you want a more traditional 3rd choice, water temp will do.

right here in the FTE shop is a whole bunch of purdy A-pillar posts with nice looking gauges. I would go trans temp, oil temp and oil pressure if you're using it hard. Or go for a 4 gauge set-up and add water temp or voltage. Good luck, post some pics when you 'git er done'.
