Hi guys. Im coming up on the 100k mile service on the truck and wanted to make the tranny a little more bullet proof. It's a '99 V10 with Auto XMSN. Ive searched and found the "sonnex valve" and "tricumulator springs". Is this correct? Anything else i can do? Thanks in advance.
Increasing line pressure hydraulically is always better than electronically. The Sonnex vavle with the springs will do just that. Plus the springs will make you shifts a bit firmer for less TC slip.
I've been thinking the same, but should the tranny be broke in for x amount of miles before doing these mods? My tranny only has 7k on it since the new one was installed. Also can the mods above be done in the driveway? I am faily mechanical but know nothing about trannies. all I know how to do is drop the pan to change filter and fluid and thats about it. In my case it could be down for a few days as I have spare vehicles around but I don't want to start or screw anything up that is way over my head. Laslty how much for the parts and how much to have them installed? thanks and sorry Komats for asking all these questions under your thread but it seemd like the appropriate place. How about warrenty voids????

Those are great mods and I would recommend them.
when you change line pressure in an automatic transmission it is always hydraulically. what you mean is mechanically by changing valve springs and what not.
I just recently did the springs and valve mod to the tranny. One of the best mods that i have done to the truck. The transmission shifts firm and smooth. I have never done any mechanical work on a tranny before and i tackeled this project. I spent more time cleaning up the mess that i made than actually installing the springs and valve! Great mod and i recommend it to anyone looking to "waken" up the 4R100!
