I've got a family friend who has a F150 with the 4.0liter engine. (?)
The problem is that he says it stalls, not constantly, more when it's cold, I believe, he turns the key off and then restarts and it runs. Sometimes it happens only once, other times it happens a few times.
The truck is equipped with a Diablo aftermarket chip. Bruce says it's worse with the chip turned off, than with the chip turned on. He's at a loss and maybe you guys could help us/ him out.
I did a search and did find something about the IAC valve so I copied and pasted the parts about cleaning and emailed that info to him.
Does he have the original chip? I would say put it back in and see if that helps. Could be the performance chip is going bad. Also, try disconnecting the battery for about 20 minutes, then reconnect and restart. That will reset the puter so it will learn again. May help.
Yeah I think he said he has the original chip. I will tell him about the battery idea. Part of the problem is he works overseas for weeks at a time and we don't see him to often. Perhaps could it be the truck sits to long? There by causing a build up of moisture or "crud" in the connections?
