I was in Yakima, WA yesterday, filled up for $2.45,,PUC diesel price for trucks was around $2.30... needed fuel south of Redding, I pulled off I-5 and rolled into a station,$2.98 gal, I kept going, found fuel 10 miles down the road for $2.57...got 16.2 mpg running 70-75 empty.

I live in Redding... Where in Sam hill did you see $2.98? The 2.57 must've been the TA truck stop south of town.

Just spent a week house boating at Lake Trinity CA.. Although nothing was diesel powered, the price per gallon for gas was 3.66.. Between the ski boat, jet ski's, and pushing our floating hotel around the lake, I could's made a house payment! The trip home in the S/D seemed like a hybrid in comparison.. Was glad to see the price drop to 2.74!!

I hear ya, wera racer. I went from Georgia to SoCal 8 years ago and still can't believe the prices here.

Wish I knew what happened to diesel this week. Around me they also went from about $2.65 to $2.99 in a matter of 24 hours.

I dont like the rising price of gasoline/diesel any more than the rest of you, but come on already...unless you drive thousands and thousands of miles per month, it's only an extra $75-$100 per month max. I am amazed at the number of peole that will buy a $40-50K truck and belly ache about and extra few bucks for fuel. By the way, I sadly paid $3.01 this am for diesel.

i few extra bucks here and a few extra bucks there + a lot of bucks! thats like saying give a little blood here, a little blood there - you do that enough you run out of blood! i love my truck but when the price of fuel jumps as much as it has n the last 24hrs here - that is quite noticable and adds up to about 15.00 more to fill a tank (based on 30gal) because the prive literally has jumped nearly 50c a gallon from a week or 2 ago, and about half of that within the last couple days. the ral problem is there is no relief from it and it will go higher - when in reality everyone knows it should be cheaper than reg gas!

just venting.....

what a scam........baldwin park CA 2.93......west covina CA 2.85.......la puente CA 2.83.......3 short years ago I paid 1.46(then) at the same 2.83 gas station(now)......

the latest arguement I keep hearing is "there are more diesels out there pushing 5th wheels and toy haulers"......that is so annoying......diesel; plain and simple is cheaper to produce.....I thought????

If prices on all trucked goods(foods, toys, junk, etc) doesn't go up......how is a trucker supposed to make it????.....raise prices on services?????

seems a little a** backwards to me......the diesel excuse is lame, the diesel crowd grows 100 times slower then the gasser crowd......I'm sure if you look at percentages of diesel versus gassers sold we'd see what a d@#m shame this scam is......

It's interesting that because I paid $40k+ for a truck, it somehow isn't legitimate to complain about fuel prices. I could afford my truck specifically because I do my best to save money, and I'd much rather take that $100/month and apply it to the loan, or pay yet another Special Assessment in this lovely state of California. Multiply that $100 by 4 vehicles (business also) and we're talking real money now.

I'm never happy paying more than I have to for anything, pretty much regardless of price. It's a character defect I guess...but it's served me well.

I don't expect my "bellyaching" to change a flipping thing, but I sure would like to know why prices increased some 15% in a single day, yet can take months (if ever) to go back down.

It happened overnight... D#2 went up to $3.09 from $2.99 just down the street. Funny thing is, the price of oil didn't change much at all yesterday.
