New Bronco would be great; however, Ford have too many SUVs in lineup - Escape, Explorer, Expedition, Excursion, there will be Ford Edge in the future and now Bronco? Isn't that little too much? I wouldn't mind that, but 6 SUVs for Ford will be little too much.

If Ford brings out over 6 SUV's then those pesky environmentalists are going to go nuts!
What do you guys think the sales would be if they brought back a modernized first gen bronco? I'll bet it would rate right up there with the dodge durango, sales through the roof, no dealing by the stealerships whatsoever. I do love my superduty, but have never been much of a Ford fan, but its hard to argue that the original Bornco, and the International Scout were hands down the 2 best off road vehicles of there day. Nothing else came close. Until my new current love for the superduty, a first gen Bronco was probably the only Ford I would ever consider buying/restoring.

Why couldnt Ford just do a short-wheelbase, 2-door Expedition with an XL trim package? If it works for the Explorer it can work for the Expedition.
I honestly think that dropping the Bronco from the lineup is one of the biggest mistakes Ford has ever made.

Gak! Blurg, ook, ick, uck, bleecchh! That thing is flat-out nasty! I would hope that the production model would look better, but I'm not sure they can do enough to save it. The nicest thing I can think of to say about it is that it looks like another generic cardbord-box-with-wheels SUV.
To hang the Bronco name on that thing would be a travesty...back to the drawing board Ford, please! You can do better than that!

Huh? Durango? Ford probably sells 3 explorers for every durango Dodge sells and last I looked Durangos had some hefty rebates also.
As for the original issue here...excuse me while I get sick.
It looks to me to be a cross on a first gen Broco with a Hummer... I imagine they are thinking if it worked with Mustang, let's try the SUV market too... the first gen Bronc was a TRUE SUV, not these modern day excuses for one. The modern units are a car set on a truck style chassis...

I agree...it's like Chevy dropping the Suburban. It was their flagship SUV, what were they thinking? It was durable, big, strong -- A real truck in every sense. The SUV's I see today are sad in comparison and not very off-road capable. I had a '90 Eddie Bauer Bronco, 351W, 4X4 and that truck was indestructible! Put 260,000 miles on it and it ran flawlessly right up until I traded it in on my F-250.
I owned an Eddie Bauer Bronco, 1992 model with a 351...and I truly miss that gas-guzzling behemoth. All I needed to do is point it in the right direction and it went. Over hills, rocks, felled tree's, flood waters, no matter what, it went.
Now, that new design Bronco has its place...Would I like an F-250 based 2 door SUV with a removable shell? Hell yes.
However, That new Bronco would have a torquey large displacement 4 cylinder that I wouldn't mind putting through some paces...
It wouldn't be aimed at Hummer sales...but at Jeep sales, I think.
And with the Excursion off of the lineup, Ford has already said they will be offering an Expedition thats stretched and uses the new "Hurricane" 6.2 liter V-8.
I am still waiting on them putting that 4.4 liter V-6 Turbo-Diesel in the F-150....They have been putting it in their cab-over medium duties....
