fuel tank woes...
sometimes i just wanna take my truck out and blow it up, sometimes i think that would be more enjoyable than driving it, it seems that when i fix one thing another goes wrong. ive poured so much money into this truck that i would never sell it, cause i couldn't get 1/4 of what i have into it. and if i ever was i'd just get a newer one. long live the diesel. anyways heres what happened.problem in the beginning was that i could not use my front tank as when i would switch to it the truck would die, of fuel i'd suppose. well now its the opposite i can use my front one but not the back one. i'm guessing the selector valve but am not sure. any suggestions? thanks FTE members, you have saved me much mulah! i have done witout a mechanic in over two years, but dang the parts are still expensive!

I changed mine a few months ago. Pretty easy job. Replace the clips that hold the lines in when you do it. It has six lines. Two from each tank and two to the engine. My supply were 3/8" and my returns were 5/16". There is also a plug on the bottom for the electric. I also replaced the under dash switch at the same time. Good luck with it.

Any parts store has the clips. I had to replace them when I did my sender units, as they had been there for 20 years... The switch he referred to was the actual switch in the dash that you manually operte. Myself, I wouldn't bother, have yet to have one fail, but that is only my opinion, and may not be the best answer.
