Are you sure about this? What is your source? I am expecting delivery of a 2006 F-350 in late August. The employee pricing is great, but I get the X plan anyway, so the pricing is close. I was actually hoping that Ford would offer $2,000 cash back so I could buy new carpet for the house...keep the wife happy about the big new truck in the garage.

Yea, Straight off the ford website. You are correct there is a price difference anyways on the 05's. I just talked to my sales men and I am going to save an additional 900 using the employee option versus the x plan. From information I have gotten from (fighting chance.com) they say you can actually get a better price than the family plan as well. As for me, I have been looking for an optioned truck like I want for 4 weeks now and have only found a couple prospects so their method probably wouldn't work to well for me.

i bought my 05 last week. But i could barely afford it as it was. A comparable 06 would cost me a few more months payments. Plus, with the 50 state emissions option, thats not really an option on the 06, i am glad i got my 05 when i did. Plus, you can't get the option of cash back OR 0% financing. So the '06 Employee Discount is NOT that great of a deal.

not that big a deal

I of course would have preferred the 06, but considering it's identicle to the 05 it's not really going to make a difference. The unfortunate thing is it's going to hurt the resale value of all superduties a little, I hope/expect they won't continue the discount beyond september. Most dealerships in CT don't have more than 1-2 06' units on the lots, so if anyone is looking to buy they better get them ordered soon or they'll miss the delivery deadline for the deal.

I just pray Ford is still dumping 05' excess inventory and not using this tactic to boost 06' sales, don't need another GM junk bond scenario running in the papers.

I wonder if they'll offer special financing on 06's, at the prices these things cost, 2.9% vs 5.9% can save 3-4k over 5 years.

2006 Employee Pricing would be a good deal IF- Ford hadn't cancelled all the 2006 rebates. You read it right: you can get a 2006 250/350 under A-Plan, but the rebate went from $1000 to ZERO overnight. 2005 rebate went from $2000 to $2500, however.

how about the home depot thing

Is the home depot 500 bucks still going on? My dealership just gave me a check for 500 bucks, I don't know how the deal worked on the corporate level with ford and home depot but if you can get the 2500 rebate on 05's plus the 500 from home depot, that's a pretty good deal (not that the 2000 + 500 in july wasn't).

What IS the difference between the 05 and 06? I know the 06 made a few 05 options standard, and i they moved some stuff to the overhead console and put a powerpoint in the console, but is that it? I asked the salesman how to tell and he said "you look at the stock numbers".

nope, I got the family plan, and just filled the stuff out on the web for the Home depot thing also. They didn't have my trucks vin in there yet when I checked at first, but I called them and they put it in there so I was able to sign up. They also still have the home depot deal signs up all over the dealership.

Ok that could be true. I thought they did that in Michigan district. They may have not done this everywhere.

Check over on the New Ford buyers forum but according to Jeff the family plan is still on but the home depot thing is history effective immediatly. Double check on that forum to make sure but I think its right.

Home depot ended 8/1. And no I wasn't trying to stir things up. Guess it kinda sounded that way. I wanted to see what everyone had to say and it worked perfectly. Yea, the 06's are a little more, but at resale time they will bring a little more than an 05 purchased at the exact same time so I think it is probably a wash. Plus, it worked out in my favor more since I was looking for an 06 anyways. Crap, out west that is about all we have. Most lots are fully stocked with 06's and very little 05's after the employee pricing started on them
