How much can I pull

I just got a 94 ranger xlt, 2.3 5speed reg cab and was wondering what is the weight limit that I could pull. I am thinking a jet-ski will be fine, but wondering about what the max would be.

Your max tow rating would depend on your rear axle ratio. Refer to your owners guide for recommended tow weights. Probably in the neighborhood of a 1600 pound trailer load, less if the pickup box also has a load.

it aint so much "how much can you pull" as it is "how much can you get to a stop" my '88 2.3 s/c pulled a 16' starcraft alumminum boat regualy with little problems. it was about 1,500 pnds. it also pulled my wifes dead '87 astro van 12 miles, about 5,000 pnds or so. the weak link on all rangers is the brakes, id want brakes on anything over 1,500 pnds. havent pulled anything with my '93 4.0 yet, but id still want trailer brakes if its more than 1,500 pnds.

Id say that about 3500 pounds would be your limit. I think that your truck would be able to tow a jetski with ease.
