Has anybody else notices that gas has dropped about 10cents a gallon in the last month or so? I paid 1.22 at a Shell station yesterday and there isn't another station in town over 1.25.
LAST EDITED ON 16-Jul-01 AT 01:46 PM (EST)[p]Our gas got up to $1.89 for regular, and that's in rural southern IL! Now it's around $1.35. If you go over the river to IN, it's $1.25. Out on 41, it's $1.07!
Our prices have dropped from 1.49 a month ago to 1.13 here in Raleigh, NC. Usually prices go up in the summer. I guess the oil company executives got sick and didn't arrange for the summer price increases.
We just drove 5000 miles cross country to the East coast and the two highest gas prices anywhere were Colorado when we left ($1.89) and Colorado when we returned ($1.73). The rest of you - count your blessings. Food for thought.....at one convenience store fill up, we paid $1.49 for a gallon of gas and $1.99 for a gallon of "Pure Spring Water"! Is this a great country or what?

It's kind of funny how the price of fossil fuels have dropped this summer but the utility rates keep climbing. The power suppliers are citing the rising costs of fuel as the reason yet we are paying less at the pump. Guess the right hand doesn't know what the left is doing, huh?

At Costco I just Paid $1.53. Most other places are charging about $1.90. It take about 45mins to buy gas at Costco and there usually two people directing traffic to keep the fire lanes open.
