ERRR...Cigarette burn...how to fix?
A friend I let smoke in my vehicle managed to put a burn in the rear seat.
He has agreed to pay to fix it. I have no idea how to go about this. Re-apholster? Replace?
Specs:
2003 Explorer Sport XLT, Tan Leather seats.
Burn is on the sitting section (where your thigh rests) of the passenger side back seat.
Any advice?

My father-in-law is an auto upholsterer. I have helped him over the years. You can't repair the hole, but you can replace only the bad panel with a new one. Problem is getting the old and new to look right due to fading, dirt, etc..Or you can get a whole new seat cover, bottom only.

I would like to get a replacement panel. Looks easy to put in due to the way the fold down.
I looked all over. Anyone have any suggestions on finding one?
Have to go to the dealer (probably won't sell me just the bottom part right?)

Check for a local upholstery shop. They can remove just the burnt piece and sew in a new one. You should be able to get a close match. Either way you're gonna have to take out the seat. OR check Year One, might have to but the whole cover though. You can probably do it yourself if you take your time.
