I am hoping (to persuade the wife!) to let me buy an Alpine IVA-D300 for our 2000 F-150 Lariat. At the moment this already has the standard CD changer, so what I need to know (and this may have already been answered) is can I hook up the existing CD changer to the Alpine unit? I know Alpine have the Ai-Net connections, so don't know if it will work.
If the Alpine won't connect, are there any similar head units that will work with the existing CD changer? The other option is to ditch the Cd changer, but if I can keep it then I would prefer to. Sorry I can't give any more details on the existing set up. I am still in the UK and have not actually seen the truck, so for all I know is that it's a 2000 Lariat with a CD changer (In Laws bought the truck for us so that we have a vehicle when we get back to the US in a month or so). Also if anyone can tell me what the standard systems are like in these trucks I would appreciate it, already debating replacing all the speakers with some Polk DB570's and I have not heard the stock set up.
I am selling my system (HU, Sub and Amp, but leaving speakers in) from my Renault in the UK soon, and dreading going back to factory sounds in a vehicle.
