It all depends on what brand you are using and maybe a few other things but it's always best to measure for the correct length. if you have late model heads with the style that just get torqued down and you use all ford parts you may not need to change the push rods because the ford parts should be made with in spec so they can simple be bolted on. This has been my experience but there is always something different that can get you so measure to be safe.
