Couple interesting links

To celebrate the rally I thought I'd post a couple links that are kind of cool.

The first goes to an article on the origin of the nailgun. I found it to be a really neat story. I was sceptical at first, but since it involves beer the authenticity isn't a factor for me.

The second link relates to the recent space shuttle/station. Once at the site, there is a 6meg program to download. What it does is mathamaticaly compute the position of the satalites that surround the earth and give a 3d graphic representation on your screen. Once you install it, you have to go to setup and plug in your GPS coord., (or they have major cities you can pick from.)

With this you can easily tell when a sat. is passing overhead, so you can take a look. If you're a ham guy, this is the perfect time to figure out the doppler shift on your 2m or 440 radio. (Oh, did I mention they have a voice repeater up there on the space station??...)

It's a really cool program and a good time to download, who knows how long it'll be freeware.

Enjoy

I liked that nail gun story so much that I posted it on my blog this morning. Beer is as good an inspiration as anything. Too bad they didn't get rich off of the idea.
