I own 1995 Ford f150 with e4od transmission ,I have just done a trans service ,was working great ,now about 150miles later , no forward gears at all but reverse is working fine , no strange sounds. We replaced the transmission range sensor switch on the side of the transmission hoping it would be something simple. That did not solve the problem. Does any one have any ideas? Could it be a problem with something in the valve body , or a solenoid? Thanks for any help.
I would get the codes pulled if there are any. When you changed the trans filter did you get the rubber o-ring seal out of the valve body before you installed the new filter? If not the new trans filter may have dropped down and is now causing the trans to be sucking air.
And by the way, WELCOME TO FTE!!

If that pin was less than 1/2" long, then that sounds like a bearing came apart. Appearantly something gave out in the forward clutch assembly, forward planetary assembly, the forward/reverse sun gear or the low one way clutch assembly. Sorry for the bad news, but it looks like you need an overhaul.
Ponyracer , the pin that i found in the pan is just over an inch long,it doesn't look like a needle bearing .I also noticed that the yoke that slips into the trans tail shaft has a bit of play in it,i have not taken anything else apart yet.Could it be something in the tail shaft area? I also failed to mention the truck did have a bit of vibration at 50-60mph,any other ideas of what might have failed? Thank for your help . Cam
