IN the last few weeks when i turn the key from a cold start , the engine cranks but motor doesnt engage. When i let go of the key however it sputters then engages if ive held it long enough.
If i shut it off andIf i turn it again after 2 seconds it engages with the key turned, if i shut it off and do it again, it engages immediately. Just wondering why it might not do it the first time.?
Ive replaced the starter solenoid about 2 weeks ago cause it got stuck closed on me twice and was cranking with no key.

Reason: model
Try this. Turn the key to the RUN position and listen for the fuel pump to cycle. It should run for about 3-4sec. then shut off. Now turn the key back to the off position and cycle the pump again. This time, after the pump shuts off, go ahead and crank the engine. It should start right up. If it does, this usually indicates the pressure regulator is allowing the fuel in the injector rails to bleed back. By cycling the pump, you are pressuring the system back up. Good luck.
