I know this is a Ford truck forum, but I figure you guys might be able to help me out. I know the 351M is one typically used in trucks. I got sold a 351M, when the guy assured me it was a 351W. Being new to all this, I trusted him, but days later, found out the things a 351M - as I was struggling getting things to fit. Boy talk about the "school of hard knocks" - ouch. I feel I got kicked by a donkey in the you know whats! have a chance to pick one up, but am wondering if there are any aftermarket motor mount/adapters to allow the 351M to transition to where the 302 motor mounts connect to the cross member. The 302 motor mounts have the single bolt that ties the mount to the cross member.

the 351M has a mount on each side of the block that uses a single bolt to go into a tower that attaches to the frame in the trucks. It uses a different tranny pattern than your 302 also. On cars it used a front sump oil pan, trucks ( 4WD) used a rear sump pan.
What vehicle is the 351 supposed to be going into? If that model vehicle was ever offered with a 351M or 400 you would be able to get the motor mounts needed..
Not going to mention the guys name here obviously, but I took his word for it, as he runs a salvage yard. Paid $1200 for the motor (remanufactured by Ford 100 miles ago - it was in a truck and the guy wrecked it) and tranny - a C6. I'm sick over it, and obvioiusly embarrassed.

Don't be embarrassed about it, if you're not an expert on that motor how are you supposed to know. I wasn't sure if the 351C I was sold was a C or an M until someone on here told me how to check. If I was you I would be very annoyed at him for pulling the old bait and switch and I'd raise hell to get a refund, or the motor you wanted. 351M is a good motor for a truck or a station wagon but not something you'd want in a cool old street rod.
