EB paint scheme

I just bought a 2001 EB Expedition with 25,000 original miles. I researched the truck (carfax, recall notices etc) before I bought it. When I brought it home and showed it to a friend of mine (who is a big Ford enthusiast), he said he never saw an EB in 1 color. My truck does not have the secondary tan/brown color on the lower half of the truck. The truck does not appear to be repainted. The color of the truck is tan (actually looks more brownish/gold) and is metallic. Could this be the reason for no secondary color, or were some just painted that way?

Get the paint code off the door jam or through a Vin decoder and we can go from there.

62-

it's just possible that what you managed to get ahold of is one of the (few?) limited edition eb's produced. i have never, that i know of, seen one, although i recall seeing sales brochures with pictures and descriptions.

my recollection is that they came in 2 color schemes- mono black or mono aztec gold (sort of like you are describing). i believe they were produced for a limited time in '01, maybe into '02. loaded with all options.

i'm sure someone with more knowledge may come on here and give you more details re this particular model (if that is what it is).

other thing may be.....some original owners did not particularly fancy the "2 tone" look of their eb. some painted the offending eb specific trim to match the body paint, and swapped out the aztec gold bumper pads for the "less offensive" black of the xlt.

eb give aways include, among other things, eb stitching in the seat backs, body colored mirror covers, lots of options (although by '01 de-contenting had taken its toll compared to the "early" first gen eb's).

Lakesideblueexpy is right. It was a package offered in 01 and 02. There were tow color options, tan and black monochromatic exterior. You also got quad captain chairs and special alloy wheels with color matching inserts. I think there were a few other options to. I really like the look of those models. I actually swapped my original chrome wheels with the tan alloys that you have. Good job finding such a low mileage version.
