Fuel pump assembly is located in the fuel tank (accessed from the top of the tank).
Why do you think that the fuel pump is causing your starting problem? Have you checked fuel pressure at the rail (schraider valve)? If you have pressure at the rail (should spike up to 38-40 psi within 3 seconds of the key being turned to the run position) then the pump is very likely not related to why your truck will not start.
I assume it cranks STRONG but never starts. If you've been cranking on it you should first jump the truck to get a good charge back in that battery.
Check the Fuel pressure at the rail and then post your results. The guage (if you dont have one) can be bought at Autozone or Sears for about $35-40
Have you checked the fuel pressure at the schaeder valve yet? Autozone sells these gauges for about $35-40. You should have a 40 PSI spike within 2-3 seconds of turning the key to "run". If you are getting this pressure in run and start - then yet us know and we can help you from there.
PS - dont throw away your money and just start randomly replacing things that "friends" think might be wrong.
Have someone activate the pump with the key to on position while you listen for the pump to "whirl"---lasts about 3-5 seconds. You may have to pull the gas cap off and listen through the fill pipe to hear it. If the pump "whirls", then it's "probably" pressurizing the fuel system, although checking the pressure at the Schrader valve is the absolute way to prove it.
