Power steering-too much pressure '89 F-150
For a while, my power steering pump dipstick has been popping out. I've managed to find it every time. The other day, I turned the wheel hard to the left and blew fluid out the end of the pressure hose. Filled it up and went on my way. Now, I have fluid but no steering. It has been hard to operate from time to time since this problem started.
I've done lots of repairs, but never really had a steering problem. Does this sound familiar to anyone?
Thanks

No, I haven't tried a different cap, only because I kept finding the one I had.
I'm assuming I have a blockage of some sort on the pressure side (bad hose, something in gearbox, etc).
I just ran new brake lines and I guess I'm buying time to get up the energy to tear into the steering. Really, I didn't want to replace the pump unnecessarily, although I'm sure it's original 1989.
