Last freakin week i ordered a king pin steering arm for my truck. I ordered it from these guys because they are supposed to be one of the best, and they are "local". Their shop is 7 hours from here, so it was a helluva lot easier then ordering something from colorado or cali. Obviously i didnt expect anything within 2 days before last weekend, but when i talked to them they said that monday they'd have it shipped, and to me by tuesday morning. So id have time to get my truck together in time for the big mudbog comp. So tuesday i call after nothing has shown up, and they tell me that they didnt get a chance to finish it, so they'll get it out wednesday, which is cutting it close for this project, because i need to make some tweaks and crap before it goes. I call them wednesday to confirm shippment, it hasnt gone out yet, they said they will try to get it out by 6pm. So alright, im pissed, but ill wait overnight and get it, and all will be well. Today i am on the phone for 2 hours, and the shipping company cant find anything. I get a waybill number from these guys, still the company cant find it. I finally snap and call these clowns back, to find that its not even physically left the shop their. They just keep stringing me along... I mean, its not like this thing was cheap, i paid pretty good bucks for the damn arm. So as it sits now ill be missing the mudbogs, still have a truck with a million man hours and thousands of dollers in mods, and a Edited by Admin Tim machine shop that is keeping it parked!

170, thats full style arm with builtin cap and crap, i didnt have an issue with the cost tho untill it didnt get shipped the 3 times they promised me. Now they claim its shipped, and the shipping company says it doesnt exsist. Im livid

That's some annoying crap man, I'll tell you that. I paid $50 for mine and it works like a champ but wasn't so bling and didn't have the cap. So I take it you won't be making it to the mud bog now.
Ahhhh, about the 20th call in a 2 hour span i finally made them realize that i wanted to know what the hell was going on. I offered to take the night off work to come down there and see if i could "help" them find out where my part was. Then he finally admitted that "his brother" didnt actually ship it last night, but today at 3 oclock. So its not lost, and god damit, if all goes well will be sitting at the depot when i get off work at 7am in the morn. So i may be pushin it, but if i get er together (everything else imaginable is done, just waiting for the arm) then i can take it out, setup the proportioning valve for the rear disks, put a few miles on it to break in the gears, hit a couple hills in 4wd and the locker on, if she passes, im gonna head up to nakusp for those bogs. As long as i get enough 20 mile intervals on those gears to make myself happy, and it doesnt bust something with a couple offroad clutch dumps, i feel good enough to toss it into a pit. Alright, off to work, thanks for listening to me complain...lol

Yeah i'm kinda in the same boat with getting a vehicle together in time for a bog, in with getting my truck together hoping i don't run into any problems when i get the front lockright installed tomorrow mornign.
But yeah if i was a couple hours closer to you i'd be making the trip upyour way, but i got one close to home on sat so thats good.
not trying to make you feel bad or anything but i bought my arm from shakerbuilt and he had my stuff to me in 3 days. thats where i buy all my steering equipment, he is also very price competitive so i got a decent deal.
sorry about that ordeal... it sounds like when i was rebuilding my C6 tranny for a bog and everytime i went to napa for a part they ordered me the wrong one. i finally ended up going to a transmission shop that gave me the parts i needed for half what napa wanted. although i still didn't make the bog.
well boys, an update. I tracked that god damn part down this morning, and as of an hour ago, i took er out for a test drive. I have some bump steer, but i knew that was going to happen when i had to change all my steering angles and had one option for a track bar at this time. I could probably design a shorter track bar, and have it clear everything but not right now, its not too bad, bout 3 degrees out. Tires are nice and loud, but needed aired up a bit i think. 15psi didnt seem like enough for the ol 39's. Acted a bit marshmellowy on take off and corners. tires stick out 4 inches either side, looks badass as hell, and stops pretty positively with the 4 wheel disks, pretty hard pedal with the f350 booster and mc. Going to put a 100 or so miles on it and test the front electrack locker, and driveshaft strength, if she passes that little romp, its going to the bogs for sure. Kinda nice to see A LOT of man hours and frustration and well, money comming together into a pretty cool rig, dispite the 3 different colors the truck is. Thanks for the sympathy when i needed er boys!
I shall get the woman to get lots of boggin pics and maybe a couple vids.
Alright guys, have a good weekend
