1987 Ranger Fuel System ???
in the following picture what does this due?
the truck used to have a 2.9 in it which ran on High Pressure Fuel system and Now I have a 5.0 with a 2 barrel Carb. and a low pressure Electric Fuel pump.
any way at my truck is great around town but to try and substain speed of 70MPH I can go about 1 minute and then I run the carb out of gas my pump can't keep up. 5-7psi, at 40Gallon an hour. I have a Carter Fuel pump now to put in that is rated at 5-7psi at 72Gallon an hour. any way the Carter Fuel pump is bigger than the current one that is mounted in the frame rail up by the the Front drive shaft. and the carter pump wont fit the present location. Thinking of moving the pump back towards the Tank but I have this fuel bowl?" thinking in the high pressure system this was a catch-all for the fuel return line that came back from the engine" Any way I want to put my Carter Fuel pump back where this fuel Bowl is located. that way It is easy to access and I don't have fight the Front Drive shaft or the X-case to work on the fuel pump in the furture.
The main Question is What is the Fuel bowl due and Due I need it for a Low Pressure System?

Thanks for your help.
Don't quote me, but I don't think you need it for a low pressure system. The original system with 2 fuel pumps was supposed to supply ~40psi at the injectors, which is way more than your carb needs.
