Engine problems

I have 79 F 250 4 speed, 460 that I recently rebuilt and just put in the other day. The truck rolls in neutral, and will roll when you push the clutch in. The engine will not roll over. I have tried rolling it over at the crank but it still won't roll over. I have tried pulling the truck and dumping the clutch but the thing wouldn't turn over. The motor is two months old. Any suggestions on a problem or maybe a solution? If the flywheel bolts where 1/8 longer would that cause a problem? I am open to any suggestions.

Something could be wrong in the flywheel area. Did it turn over before you installed it? You may also want to check the 385 series forum. Alot of 460 guys in there.

Pull the spark plugs out and put the truck in neutral. With the plugs out you should be able to put a wrench on the crankshaft pulley and turn the motor over by hand without too much trouble. From that point it's just a process of elimination. You're going to have to start taking things apart to see what's binding it up.
