who all here uses one?? where did you get it, im looking into one, and i dont wanna buy one of those stupid overpriced kits. I see them on ebay, but im wondering where else i could pick one up for cheap, im looking for the 20 lb variety.
Sorry, man, no CO2 bottle here....I have a couple N2O bottles though.
In all seriousness I have never heard a bad thing about CO2 in the tires and of all the "rag"azines I read can't give them enough praise. It's a great idea. I've always wondered however, how many lbs. opf CO2 it would take to air up a 49" Irok from say 5 PSI to 25PSI........
I always wanted to put O2 in a tire that had a magnesium wheel. Then hit a big rock at speed and watch the fireworks!! Joking, of course.
i know you can fill up around 40 something regular sized tires with 20 lbs
i really think its a good investment...you can run air tools in the junkyard, run your keg, swap tires, inflate tires, use it to clean parts on the trail, and you can crank the pressure up and seat bead with it!
im trying to find the cheapest route, i want to find a usd tank that is certified for a few ytears with a good valve...im gonna call airgas today
Does AirGas refill your tank or just swap it out when you go in for a refill? The place I go to doesn't even look for certification on my tanks. They just roll another one out for me and take the empty one away. Otherwise if they do refill your tank I'd spend the $$ on an aluminum tank for the truck. Btw, I kind of got reamed on my 20lb CO2, $125 for it.
yea they will refill for 15.75, i didnt ask wut they exchange for....but i dont think i will be buying my tank from them....143.83 just for an aluminum tank thats filled. I can buy a nice new one off of ebay with a handle and new valve for about 95 shipped, and then gget it filled for a total of 110....i still want cheaper!! since my dad builds resturaunts, im gonna see if i cant get one for next to nothin somehow.
Harbor Fright sells regulators for cheap. That's where I got mine and it works fine. Of course I'm using this on my MIG and not for tires but you could easily fit an air hose to the regulator.
i dont know if itd all work the same but i dont see why not...a bunch of my buddies have a scuba tank that their paintball team uses. they're cheap and its not too much to fill it up and you can easily do it yourself if you have all the right stuff.
scuba tanks hold a fraction of the valume of air, something like 80 cubic feet, versus nearly a thousand, and are much more dangerous because if you lose a valve or something, you have 3000 psi of air creating a rocket...whereas co2 is stored as a liquid and must evaporate to become air, thats why you can hold a fire extinguisher wide open and not be knocked down. Co2 is much safer, some peole use them, they dont last near as long, and is much higher of a risk in a vehicle, but to each and his own.
about the valve, i have to have something made for co2, because when using it to fill tires the reg. will begin to freeze. Anyone know any cheap sources?
