[updated:LAST EDITED ON 09-Nov-02 AT 10:54 PM (EST)]I have a 1976 Ford F100 Explorer. Shortbed, c6 automatic with the original 360 v8. This truck is rust free (with the exception of the passenger side floor pan) with "original" paint (only the Explorer stripes have been replaced). A very sharp truck and very strong. Just curious what it might be worth.
A few schools of thought - 1) Insurance value (usually under-rated for these trucks) 2) Black/Blue/Red book value 3) Professional Appraisal.
It is hard to rate a value without being close to the truck.
As one man once said "Price is determined by the seller and the buyer, and ultimately it is worth what some one is willing to pay for it."
i.e. A truck could be appraised at $5,000, but if no one is willing to pay more than $3,500, then it is technically worth $3,500.
Keep it Rubber Side Down!
i wouldn't sell it for a dime less then $5000 usd.... but i wouldnt' pay a dime more then $3000 for it... and that's usually the way it works.. personally i wouldn't sell it.. i'd drive it for the next 40 years
[updated:LAST EDITED ON 16-Nov-02 AT 11:48 PM (EST)]Yeah, thats the thing with these old trucks, you can put all kinds of money into them and they will be awesome trucks but if you want to sell it, no one wants to pay that much for an old truck. which is why when someone asks me how much my trucks worth I tell them "It's not worth enough to sell"
I have people asking me all the time if I want to sell my truck. When I say yes, they ask how much? "6000.00"
"Oh" as they walk away. I need to be carefull, some day they may say SOLD. Do you think $12,000 is enough to discourage them?

I'm afraid to price mine for fear it will sell at th present. So I just tell them all it is not for sale. But, now for 12 grand, it will sell beleive me!!! lol
I was thinking that it might be worth taking up to the next F100 Nationals and seeing what kind of offers it brought. My gut tells me it is worth upwards of $4500+. It only has 108k on it, lol.
