Power aid

My 96 just dont have the power i think it should. I have done lots of reading here on this topic. While pulling a trailer about 2500 lbs..Not much power on the hills. Lots of down shifting and high water temp. Im going to do some trouble shooting and need some more advice. Im going to check the ebpv..and fuel pressure also that a look at the turbo.the fellow i bought the truck from has put the large intake and exgaust on the truck. i dont have any gauges yet so im kinda in the dark on boost pressure. Any other ideas on things to look into? thanks kenny

Are you seeing alot of smoke out the back?? I'd check the coolant/radiator. Might not be a bad idea to have it boiled out. If your not building enough boost you'll have a tendancy to heat up also. Check and see if you still have the cat. converter. It may be plugged.
