Trac bar help needed
Need some advice. My 77 F150 4x4 trac bar bushings are SHOT. Pulled the #$%damned thing off. Got replacement bushings from Ford. (Rubber bushings w/ steel insert).
How in the H*&^ are you supposed to get the replacements in? Cleaned everything up, tried to press them in with plently of lube, all they want to do is distort the rubber. Probably screwed the new bushing up trying and gave up for the night disgusted.
Is there a better alternative over these rubber bushings? If so who sells them?

I've used MOOG polyurethane two piece bushings with the steel sleeve on my Dad's 78, F-150, 4x4. They went together without much of a fight at all.
Can't say that about getting it apart without breaking anything though.
The instructions with them actually said to use cooking oil for lube. And it worked good. :-)
