Alldata says about $270 for the evapoartor and about 2 hours labor. Doesn't include evacuate and recharge. So figure about another hour or two. Labor will be about $400 plus the $270 for the evaporator. Figuring freon, refrigerant oil, miscellaneous small parts, shop supplies, etc., my guess is $800. You can get the evaporator at Autozone for about $100. NAPA $153 or $170 depending on which evaporator you choose, they have two kinds. Figure a couple of cans of R-134 another $20. About $200-$250 for you to do it figuring some o-rings, refrigerant oil, miscellaneous small parts, etc. Assuming you have access to a vacuum pump.

wow, I have access to the vaccum and tools, but that sounds like it is something I don't want to do. I just dropped $800 on the Condensor, Accumulator, compressor seal, orfice, flush, and refill from my buddies A/C guy.
All my freon shot out the other day and it sounded like it was up near the dash area. I just figured I would give it a stab. But I'll probably leave it to the pro's.
