Im swaping out my 302 to a 360 in my 1983 250 and Im gonna need to do some new exhaust mods. Anyone know of a good/right pair of headers that i shoud use and where i can get em. I want to ruun duals to keep the good airflow so im thinkin of either wledin my old exaust back on or investing in new pipes and some flowmasters. any advice would help.
360 in/302 out? :O Ok before you get to the exhaust youve got alot of fabrication ahead of you! Different motor mounts, tranny mounts, tranny, bigger radiator, not to mention all the wiring.
Back to your question.
Untill that 360 is in the truck you dont know what clearence issues you will have with the frame, crossmembers, ect. Before you start cutting into the frame make sure you take some measurements. To me weaking the trucks frame isnt worth the more hp your putting in it, thats an accident waiting to happend.

Its a 360 ford motor from a 1979 f 100, its not a mopar motor. Everything fits in the swap and and i have plenty of extra room after the swap. I found a pair of headers by hedman whch i am thinking about, but i am still looking.
79's didnt have 360 FE's. Looks to me that its the motors 2nd swap! Well...since you got it in there time for headers. I bought hedmans 4wd headers from summit....sandblasted and powdercoated. They sound sweet with just the headers but im putting exhaust on it right now. Hope you get it going!
$160 new, i sandblasted them and had a shop powdercoat them for me. Total cost was $210. Ceramic coating costs to much...if it chips its junk. Powdercoat is fairly cheap to fix when you compare to ceramic. If you sandblast them yourself you have to make sure the metal is totaly clean...no dirt, grease, paint, anything but metal has to go or the shop will charge you to have them clean it properly.
