OK you've got a Ford V8 between about 1978 to 1990 maybe. Fill in the rest of the details as to what you have and you will get more help faster.

As for the TFI, I thought they were a "go/no-go" item. Not sure if they have a middle ground of failure. Mine worked great right up to the point it quit altogether.

Anyway, do that update and look for more help.

This thread will probably moved to the appropriate forum.

That would be either the 87-96 truck forum or the engine series forum that covers the 302.

New parts don't necessarily mean they are good.

What kinda RPM's are you talking about? The PCM(computer) will have a set rev limiter and you could be hitting that especially if you are doing the reving in neutral.

alright, i do not like using capitals, but you have got to win the no punctuation post award.

I get about one line into a post like that and just can't deal with it anymore.

If someone can't be bothered to use proper punctuation and capitalization, I can't be bothered to read and reply.

I'm not bashing, just a statement of fact.

andym, i hope my not using capitals does not bother you. it is my homage to e.e. cummings. the bad punctuation does make me stop reading also.
