Edge tuner?

Is the edge juice with attitude tuner/chip a good choice for a relatively stock engine? It looked better than the six gun but could use some advise.

Yes. And no. You need to make intake and exhaust mods to get more air in and out. A nice open intake like the Kwik filter, and a 4" exhaust will work wonders. The Juice with Attitude has its own pyro sensor I believe. If I am wrong and it does not, then you will need a pyrometer as well.

Other than those minor mods (which, sadly don't feel minor when you pay for them) the Juice with Attitude should be a good choice.

I have been using an Edge Evolution programmer for about a week. I decided to put it back to stock tune - I don't remember why. I was amazed at what a slug the truck became. Oh, sure, if you mashed the throttle and waited long enough it would get up and move. But with the Evo, you don't need much throttle and there is no wait. And if you do stay on it, it builds quite a bit more power than stock.

It is addictive. I don't want to go back to stock....

Amen brother ... I ran the Edge EVO at tow and extreme modes. Wooooot!

Got a custom cold air intake, 4" with a cone K&N, as well as a 3.5" downpipe and a 4" turbo back magnaflow and a Banks Big Head actuator. The diff between chipped and no tuner - is night and day.

I found I didn't like the Extreme mode much - no better throttle response - but a LOT more smoke. About the Banks Big Head - most people here just unplug the wastegate. I happen to have a Big Head in a box - got it with some other parts. It never seemed worth the trouble to install, but thought I'd give it a try one day just for fun.

How do you like yours? Did you notice a difference between the Big Head and the stock waste gate?

Never had the truck stock - so not sure. Didnt bother running the truck with less than the extreme tune either and tow.... Actually only had it a little over 3 weeks, so still experimenting. :-)
