Cool head light problem

I'm having a problem with the headlights on my 1997 Ford Explorer. The temperature is very hot here and the rear view mirror came unglued today. Now my headlights won't turn off. I checked the delay switch, etc, but they won't turn off short of disconnecting battery. Please help!

Sounds like a problen with the automatic headlight electronic module. Check to see if there is a fuse that feeds the automatic headlights, and try pulling the fuse and see if the lights turn off. Good luck.

Like Don sez try pulling the fuse. It's interior fuse 9.

Or if ONLY the headlights are on, try pulling fuse 8 which is wired to the daytime running lights module.
