Sometimes, the ABS light will come light up on my '99 F-150. Both times it has happend, it happend at the same intersection in a light rain.
If I stop, shut off the engine, wait 10 seconds and then restart it, the light goes out.
From what the owner's manual says, that light means that the ABS system isnt functioning normally and when the light is on, you dont have anti-lock brakes.
What causes this light to come on? Is it moisture on a sensor? The only time the light has ever come on is during a light rain and has only come on at this one intersection.
The light doesnt stay on, so it doesnt worry me much but Im curious as to why it comes on in the first place.

Check the sensors at the wheels make sure they are connected properly, check the wiring to see if it is broke or frayed. Is this the only time it has rained or has it rained other times and nothing happen.
strange! I would check the sensors and wires any way. there could be a break in the wire that could bet worst later. there may be a bump at that intersection that causes the symptom.
