Past week, 'Ol ford been "Crunchin'" (vibration-like) in the front wheels, when I cut them one way or the other. Sorta feels like they're gonna "Break" - "Fall" off. Going straight forward/back, it's alright. Its got plenty of P.S. Fluid, checked that this mornin'. Oh, and when I do have them "cut" (right/left), gotta give it a LOT of fuel, to get it to go in that direction. Just wondering what ta look for tomorrow, right off, considering the weather. Don't won't ta be out in the cold for too long, on a wild goose chase. Steering Stabilizer, bearings, shocks, tie rods, crossed my mind. The trucks been lifted probably 3 to 4" 's. Got big tires on it. Thanks in advance for any info.... 'cause it won't be warm enough tomorrow to be doing .
check and see if the tires are rubbing on the frame or body when the wheels are at full lock both directions. sometimes they have a tendency to rub the lower fender corners and the radius arms.
Welp, found my problem. The tie-rod end that bolts into the spindle assembly, the hole in the assembly is "wollered" out. It's got a rubber bushing between the tie-rod end and spindle. Took it to a "shadetree mechanic" (literally) and he "shimmed" it (tightened) it up with two 3/4 washers. Welp its still doing the same thing. Guess I'm gonna have ta get a new sp... assembly. ???? wonder how much they cost (before I call) and how long would it take ta change out. I figured 2/3 hours, if everything goes allright. Don't guess I'll change the tie-rod end out. Any suggestions or advice will be considered.
