1. i have a 1995 F250 Diesel Turbo that has its' "check engine" light on. the truck is running rough...actually stalling at an idle rpm and loosing power momentarily at cruising rpms. i took it to the local advance auto parts store to have them plug their diagnostic device into the engine to ascertain what the problem is. the fellow at the store could not find the plug in ports anywhere and it was not where his instruction book said it would be (driver side of engine compartment near the firewall. i ran a search on this sight for some advice but came up empty. can anyone give me a heads up on the plug in location???
2. what size and type of fitting fits my belt tensioner i need to release to realign my belt that has a rib overhang????
The PCM is an OBDII connector under the drivers side dash.
Install a 15mm closed end wrench on the tensioner pulley bolt and rotate the tensioner arm away from the belt.
Remove old belt. Release tensioner slowly. Allowing the tensioner to snap back after the belt is removed may damage the tensioner.
The plug for the code reader is on the passenger side, under the dash toword the left side of the glove box. It faces the floor. It may have a cap in the plug. Its blue, I believe.
The CPS is located on the front of the motor right next to the crank pully. I believe it will take a 10mm wrench. Then unplug the pigtail and 'wiggle' it out. Pretty easy.
thanks for helping me out on the cps locale, i am eager to see if this sensor will take care of other threee issues printed out from the diagnostic device.
Each one of those codes points to a different component on the engine. You have more than one problem to fix, so the light is coming back on.
However looking at them again gives me the thought that your exhaust is restricted. Might you by chance have still have the catalytic converter on the truck and it's clogged?
