Any of ya'll have these? Likes, Dislikes? I ran across one today and have been playing with it,, Dont like the 1300 Min rpm,, Stilll figuring out how to program this thing for a lesser rpm,and so far lowest i can find is 1190 on a memory bank, i guess it is, 1000 would be perfect for me.Any tips or tricks on this thing?
On the left side of the controller there are two arrows. One points up the other points down. After engaging the unit hold the down arrow until the rpm's drop to where you want them.
Actually my arrows are on the right side, in the auto mode you cant lower it any less than 1300,, in the programmable memory mode i can get it to 1196, but thats it. Not sure if i like this thing or not. I do idle some and like the idea of being able to raise it around 1000rpm,,makes a heck of a difference with the A/C when its a 100 outside like it has been..
ive got them in all my trucks love them. the one in my truck i can get to go down to 700 rpm's i think i just held the button down. you could use the charge protect also runs it about 900-1100 rpm
In all the paperwork it says min rpm is 1300,, In manual mode i can get down to about 1199 but thats is. This has a manuf date of 11/97,, wonder if its just an older one? Works good though,, Just didnt really want it to idle so high. With a straight pipe, 1200-1300rpm is pretty loud if your standing outside..
I have one and also have the operating instructions. You can use pre programed settings or just program whatever rpms you want. Im in a cold climate and in the winter its handy to have it kick up to 950 every time i stop or get out of the rig. Its excellent for cold weather extended idling and will really save the life of the engine.
I have one of these on my truck and the lowest i can get is 1299. I have the original manuals and such...are these "out of the book tricks" you can do with these? THANKS

THe paperwork that I have on my 99 says 1300 also......but I agree with the noise aspect and would like to be able to get mine a little lower.
I think its the specific model medic and I have or something, 1299 is low as it will go. I'm thinking this may not be for me though, now after i have it I'm thinking i really have no need for this. Isnt that the way it usually works? If someone wanted to give me back the $120.00 i paid for it, I would ship it and wouldnt fight them over it.!! I still have the original box and everything that comes with it,,,havent even mounted it yet.I can see if you lived in a cold climate it would be very handy to have for sure. We might have 2-3 days a year in the teens, but thats it..
