Serpentine Belt Issues

I am trying to install a Serpentine belt on a 93 Econoline. The New belt and the old belt are the same Manufacturer and have the same part number however, the New belt seems to be a good 4 inches shorter than the old belt. I figured this was due to the Old belt stretching and continued.

I removed the Old belt by lifting the Tensioner in the counterclockwise direction as listed on the Decal noting the pathing of the old belt. Now is where I run into issues. I am trying to get the new belt in place but even with the tensioner completely lifted the new belt is still quite a bit too short to make it over all the pulleys.

Any ideas would be a great help.

Thanks
Bob

Did you note the path of the old belt or are you using the decal for belt routing? if the latter, be sure the belt is fully seated on the grooved pulleys, there is little room for error.
