Question Questions about replacing ignition switch?

Has anybody every changed out their ignition switch? Do I need any special tools? I found a sight online about changing one on a Mustang and they said that you need a special T-27 tamper resistant torx bit. It is one of the torx bits that has the hollow center? I just wanted to know if I should get one of the bits before I take the column and everything apart.

Thanks,

There is a small hole below the lock cylinder that you'll need to locate(on the steering column). Turn the ignition key to the 'run/acc' position and stick something up this hole (like a narrow punch, clothes hanger end, etc.) to disengage the cylinder lock mechanism. The whole unit then slides right out.

Mine is an '85, but yours should be the same. Hope this helps.
