Chassis dimensions?

Chassis dimensions?
I am thinking about mounting my 47 1 1/2 ton body on a newer chassis to take advantage of all newer running gear, braking systems, etc. I am going to replace the stake rack with a camper for "Golden Years" traveling.
All the original drive train and chassis is rebuildable, but I can't afford to break down in the tullies. I think that the newer chassis are close or maybe the same width of 34" as the 47.
