rusted out radius arm studs
Im in the process of changing my 72 f-100 over to disc brakes. I got a complete front suspension off a 77 f-150 2wd and am cleaning everything up and painting and installing new king pins, bolts etc. but the studs on the back of the radius arms are so rusted I do not trust using them so i cut them out. the radius arm off the 77 is the stamped steel version and the part of the stud that was welded back in the arm was 7/8 diameter and the threads are 5/8 and the middle is rusted to bad to tell what it used to be. the radius arms on my 72 are the one piece cast style with 5/8 stud I know because I just changed radius arm bushings about a year ago. I am wondering if any one knows what I.D. the 77 bushings would be and if the stud just comes out the back and shoulders down to give the washer for the bushing something to set against or is the 77 bushing 7/8 I.D. The stud sticks out from the radius arm 4 1/8" how far does the 72 stud stick out' I use my truck alot and don't want to tear it apart if I don't have to. hopefully somebody will know what i need to know

when i rebuilt the front end of my 72 f100 i used a 79 front end but kept the 72 radius arms becaus they are stronger and just plain look better. when i ordered the bushings i got them for the 79 and they worked perfectly on the 72 arms.
