Gear Box Ratio

Does anyone know if you can change the ratio in a power steering gearbox on a 67-79 2wd? I am building a high powered 466 for my Pro Street 67 F100 and am worried that if I get out of shape, the existing ratio will be too slow to save it. It looks like finding a box with the correct ratio (approx 12:1) that will mount up is going to be real hard. If yall know an answer to this one, I will be amazed at the power of this board! Thanks, Mike

Mike, of course you can! If memory serves me, the people to do it are at Lee Steering Co. They rebuild steering boxes and adverize in truck magazines sometimes. You might also see if you have room for a longer pitman arm. DF

Cool! I will look them up. My buddies and I were about of ideas. Is it safe to assume that the longer pitman arm will in effect dlose the ratio a little bit? Thanks, Mike
