Larger fuel pump ?
I purchased a used sending unit for an EFI system. When I got home and compared it to the old one, the "new" one has a larger pump. The sending unit is the same as the old one in all ways other than the larger pump assembly. Will it work? Will the fuel pressure regulator take care of any excess pressure stemming from a larger fuel pump?

What did the pump come from? If the pump came from a truck with a 460, and you're putting it in a truck with a 300-6, you may have an issue, but generally, the regulator should be able to handle more volume.

I am scratching up old parts info, but I do not recall the fuel pumps varying depending on engine size. They did change depending on tank size, location and metal or plastic tank. What is the sender for? If you picked it up at a wrecking yard, they often are more liberal in the interchange, if it fits and works, it is the same. The appearance might be considerably different.
