Being it is very square cornered you coudl probably got to a commercial sheetmetal shop and have them build you one.
I would say most residential shops would be able to as well but when you do mostly residential HVAC work you have less stainless stuff laying around since you don't often use stainless in residential applications. Shops that do alot of commercial stuff may have a piece that will work just fine. And you coudl probably get it under $30 easily
Sounds like i'll have to fab up a guard myself because Putco's guard is pretty much cosmetic and would fall off just like the stock plastic tailgate cap or so the Putco tech told me.
the stock one is crap. i rented a f-150 this week to take on a trip and it was awesome all around but the tailgate cap. it just keep unhooking and popping up.
