I have a quick question concerning the door weatherstrip placement. I think that the new weatherstrip gets glued to the door, however, there is a metal lip on the cab (where the door closes) that looks like it should have some type of weatherstrip too. Is there two weatherstrips that seal the door when closed or is there supposed to be some type of windlace that goes on the cab??? LMC Truck and NPD only show one door weatherstrip.
If anyone has info on this I sure would appreciate it.
Just replaced mine on a 69.Nothing on the door the weather strip goes in on the cab.It starts and stops under the kick plate along the bottom. moparnut
Thanks for the reply "moparnut". I thought that it should go on the cab as well. The only thing that was, and still is, "throwing me off" was that there is evidence of, what appears to have been, a very old weather strip that was on the door itself. Perhaps that was an add-on by a previous owner.
I agree with I thnk ford, I'm getting ready to do my 71 F100 and the old stuff is on the cab. The chev seal looks better to me. the metal in it should better, and I'm going to glue to the outsidecab lip. good luck.
