92 Bonco

I have a 92 bronco w/256000 miles on it and yesterday it stopped running. I'm guessing fuel pump because there is no whirl sound when I turn on the key, but after it sets for an hour it will start for a few minutes then stop again. Could this be the pressure reg. or maybe something else. any ideas for tests I might do to isolate problem before I jerk the tank out?

pull codes, get a test gauge on the fuel rail to see what pressure if any is there. but if you dont hear the pump coming on anymore thats probably what the problem is.
