tuners
with all the tuners out there,does anyone really think they are worth it? with the price of gas at 2.50 plus for 93 oct.,you have to use to get the most out of the tuner.lower octane only yields about 8-10 hp.any thoughts?

derek if you do a search on this forum for tuner you will find that this argument has gone all over the spectrum and that opions vary but the general consesus seemed to be that the tuners greatly improved the driveablity of these trucks and the argument has been made that if you were worring about gas mileage you shouldn't have bought this truck but with that said if you do a search on gas mileage you will see that this subject has aslo been gone over many many many times. but personally I'm trying to figure out how i can justify this to my wife because if it changes the driving style of this truck that much I gotta have one

Most tuners offer more then 1 mode. You do not have to take the performance mode that needs 93octane. You can tune with 87 octane that will provide better shift points and other options. But you are right to go to higher performance you will need to burn 93 octane.
