I need to install a aftermarket cruise control on my F-350 7.3. What is a good one to buy and installs with ease.
I didn't even know that anyone made a cruise control for these rigs. All the aftermarket cruises that I have seen utilize the throttle cable to control the speed. The powerstroke doesn't have one, it's drive by wire. So there is really no way to connect an aftermarket cruise. Have you asked Ford how much it is to install the factory version? The most expensive part would be the steering wheel with the control buttons. Maybe find a used one?

Maybe I can hook the cable right to the foot peddle. I'll post up what I find out. Thank you for the reply.
Depending on what year your truck is: the cruise control for 2000 and later is a kit from the stealership that consists of a steering wheel with the switches installed and a coiled harness and a sheet of instructions on how to install the stupid thing correctly. The rest of the control stuff is already via the computer controls. The idle controller installs the same way but the kit data is harder to come by. Either device will work as a speed control. I myself installed the cruise control on my XL contractor's truck.
easy: go to stealerdealer with your truck/vin number and ask them which kit and how soon you'll get it. They know how to do this easy stuff. It is probably even the same kit #. Otherwise look in the official aftermarket catalog to see if there is a year/model listing. I am guessing that the numbers mutated to 1c3z 9a818 aa. and WOW they got pricey.
