I havea 77 with an old 4inch lift in it that I want to replace with a 6inch when I come back from camp. I was thinking about gettin re arched springs becasue right now its just blocks in the back. And can you buy coils for the front just on their own? because I will need bigger oens as these are only fora 4 inch. once this little lift is complete I might buy some 35s and put a spool in the back. Another thing im worried abouti s how well the D44 will hold up with 35s? its the D44F or HP or whatever the stronger one is os it should be ok I think, going thru mud and stuff shouldnt be too stressful on it.
OR
I will do the lift thing and put a 2 inch body in then I figure I can fit 38s in there decently, but then I would need to put a dana 60 up front. And I do have a 60 but then the problem comes of doing the springs for the frotn end and stuff..so much to think about, and I'll need to re gear from 3:55s to probably 456 or something like that....my mind is running wild.
yea but a crammed fenderwall, I like a little bit of clearence, I think mine is good with 4 and 33s, but I know I can fir 35s and 36s...I have anothe set of 4innch springs, could jsut redo shocks and stuff and ptut he body lift in a nthor 38s in...like I say, so many things you CAN do...but I still dunno about the front axle.
yea thats what I figured, but Ithink if im gonna buy new rubber im gonan go bigger than 35 im thinking 38s...just outta curiosity, what does a 6 inch skyjacker lift or soemthing liek that cost for a 77 f150?, that might be my best bet. you cna make moints or whatever for coils on a 60 if they are ment for springs right?
I checked the site, they show the applications but they have no prices, probably have to call in. it jsut so happens I have a welder....ohh the possibilities.
yea thats true as well, like having 33s and a 10 inch lift or something, but there is a difference between too mcuh lift and not enough rubber or not enought lift and too much rubber...I think....like chevs that have small fenders so they have to lift itso much jsut to get a big tire, then it looks dumb.
lifting for looks ??? then buy some 9 inch coils and a 3 inch body lift , and throw some 44's on that fron dan 44. I thought u might have wheeled the truck, sorry for the input, i didnt know there was such thing as "too much rubber, not enough lift"
of course im wheeling this truck, jsut becasue I want it to look half normal doesn't mean im not. people who build "4x4's" all up just for a show and never take them out are retarded in my opinion. but yes I do think there is a point whre it can be putting too much rubber in without a lift. I just have my own preference for what Ithink looks good is all.
You can have your preference of what looks good but your point of too much rubber without a lift is fubar imo, if you wheel hardcore you would understand.
