A previous owner welded on an extention to the current bumper of my 65 250.
I want to mod it back to normal, but it seems it's welded on. Can someone let me know how the original was mounted? What is welded on as well, or bolted.
I also need information on getting a new rear bumper (best place).
The bumper is bolted on. There are brackets you will need also, two on each side, inner and outer brackets are different and bolt to the frame. I can take photos of mine if you want, though my exhaust may not make it all that visible.
Any pic would be great so I can at least get an idea of what an original 65 bumper should look like up close. I've only seen 3-4 trucks around town that "look" original and they always seem to be going the other way...
My "DOCK" bumper is welded on too.
It wraps around the rear quarters and blends in to the wheel well.
I've been told its stock dealer installed item, but only west of the missippi.
